Use with TholusOS

Convert videos for TholusOS, use its mirror-dome meshes and send it a live picture.

If you use TholusOS, it can send videos to VR Converter Studio and receive the converted result in its library.

  2. Choose the job in the bar. If TholusOS requested a preset, such as Fulldome 4K, it is used for that job.
  3. Check the settings and click Convert and return. The result appears in the TholusOS library; the original stays untouched.

What can return to TholusOS

Click Cancel job to stop a job; TholusOS receives the cancellation.

Mirror-dome meshes from TholusOS

TholusOS shares its mirror-dome meshes and its calibrated dome projectors with VR Converter Studio on the same Mac.

  1. Open TholusOS at least once after calibrating or importing a mesh; it shares them when you switch to another app.
  2. In VR Converter Studio, set the output to Mirror Dome.
  3. In the Inspector, under Warp Mesh, click From TholusOS and choose a mesh or a calibrated projector.

The export lands on each projector pixel where TholusOS puts the same picture. A calibrated projector also sets the resolution and the dome angle; Mirror Dome keeps a 16:9 or 16:10 frame, so other projectors use the closer of the two.

Live to TholusOS

In Live Syphon Output, click Send live to TholusOS. TholusOS connects its Syphon input and shows the picture on the dome; click Stop sending to TholusOS to return the dome to what TholusOS showed before. TholusOS shows standard video, equirectangular and 180° domemasters live, in 2D.
